An electroencephalogram (EEG) is a recording of brain activity.

During this painless test, small sensors are attached to

the scalp to pick up the electrical signals produced by the brain.

These signals are recorded by a machine and are looked at by a doctor.

An EEG is a test that detects abnormalities in your brain waves, or in the electrical activity of your brain.

Most waves of 8 Hz and higher frequencies are normal findings in the EEG of an awake adult.
